The Story
Somewhere between the Train and the Cowboy
In the very early planning stages of Roosevelt's, the creators decided that the theme should "stand the test of time" (so far so good). They did not want neon signs and fancy decor, no... that would be "hot...and then not." Instead, they focused on things that everybody likes... and that everybody would continue to like: the train and the cowboy. These iconic American products harken all of us to our youth and the youthful energy of our dynamic country. Well, in the early 1900's the country had real cowboys and trains, our industrial revolution was in full force and the wild west was still being tamed. No one person embodied the duality of a wild west and refined east more noticeably than Theodore Roosevelt.
He was a rancher and a cowboy in the west, and a political power broker and trustbuster in the east. And so he is the namesake of an establishment that honors the American spirit, the very youthful, courageous, adventurous and enduring spirit, which lies at the heart of America. As the 26th President of the United States, he was the youngest ever at the age of 42.
